CIPLA MEDPRO SPONSORS SATS/ALLSA CONGRESS BANQUET

Cipla Medpro took great pleasure in being involved in the combined conference of the South African Thoracic Society and the Allergy Society of South Africa that was held at the International Convention Centre in Cape Town, in March.

At the Cipla Medpro stand the Respiratory Product Manager, Anton Fourie, demonstrated the new Revolizer, a revolutionary dry powder inhaler device. The Revolizer is a cost-effective, simple-to-use and environmentally friendly device for pulmonary drug delivery. It has been developed to address the critical requirements of an ideal inhalation device and provides accurate dosing and excellent lung deposition.

Fourie said: "Physicians at the congress were very excited about our new Revolizer. They were really impressed by the simplicity and effectiveness of this revolutionary device."

Cipla Medpro sponsored the formal banquet and awards evening that took place at the end of the SATS/ALLSA congress.

Cipla Medpro's Medical Director, Dr. Nic de Jongh, addressing the 200 physicians attending the dinner, said Cipla Medpro had come a long way since its humble beginnings 14 years ago. The company now boasts the largest range of respiratory products and is the market leader in bronchodilators and intranasal steroids.

Dr. de Jongh said Cipla Medpro's incredible growth was largely due to the company's continued involvement and support of the academic environment, the therapeutic equivalence trials done to compare our products to the innovator, coupled with top quality, affordable products and excellent service.

Cipla Medpro remains committed to research in the field of asthma and allergy and this year donated two research grants, of R25 000 each, to SATS and ALLSA for that purpose.

The excellent three-course dinner was followed by dancing and the evening was enjoyed by all. The banquet provided a fantastic opportunity for specialist physicians from around the country to socialise, interact and enjoy themselves.
