main sponsor for this year’s event that took place at the luxurious Westin Grand Ballroom in Cape Town.

Gerhard Nagel is a volunteer who went to Jacmel on the south coast of Haiti in January 2010 to help out after the devastating earthquakes. We provided him with products (Safehands sanitising hand
gel and Gastrolyte for rehydration purposes) to make the plight of these desperate people just a bit better.
New look for Empilweni Clinic
Cipla recently donated funds towards the refurbishment and renovation of Empilweni Clinic, a paediatric HIV clinic at Coronation Hospital in Johannesburg. Other sponsors of the project were UNICEF and the Wits University Paedatric HIV Research Unit.
Miles for Smiles
In 2006 Cipla launched the Cipla Miles for Smiles Foundation, a non-profit organization that raises funds for corrective surgery for children born with cleft lips and /or cleft palates. The foundation was
also formed to assist Operation Smile in creating awareness for the plight of these children.
Adopt-a-School
Adopt-a-School - Peninsula School Feeding Association (PSFA).
In 2008 Cipla does an annual fund raising evening to benefit the Peninsula School Feeding
Association. The 2010 event raised R116,000 and will feed 314 children for an entire year.
