Breyton Paulse
He regards himself as a very humble guy and still lives by the values that he was brought up with.
Breyton Paulse, or Breyty as he is known to his peers, hails
from the Koue Bokkeveld close to a town called Ceres where he grew
up on the De Keur farm. Here he did his schooling and also
got into playing different kinds of sports from a very young
age. He played cricket, soccer, participated in athletics…
but his passion always was rugby.
After school he studied at the University of Stellenbosch with the
gracious support of the farm owner Mr Charl du Toit. He then
seized the opportunity and made his breakthrough into Maties
Rugby. He went on to represent the Maties and WP rugby
teams. Critics were sure that he wouldn't make the Springbok
side and against all odds Breyty played 64 tests and became only
the 7th player to play more then 50 tests for South Africa.
He regards himself as a very humble guy and still lives by the
values that he was brought up with. He likes to get involved
in charities and also recently did the tough mountain-bike race
called the Cape Epic.
These days he loves getting out on a golf course and is proud to
announce that he recently got involved with the Cipla family as one
of their Brand Ambassadors!
